We have six areas to choose from: The Bar, The

Snug, The Lodge, The Back Restaurant, The

Dining Room and The Courtyard.

If you wish to book a party, you can, if the numbers are large enough, book out a complete room depending on availability at the time of booking at no extra cost. We can also take pre ordered parties if time is limited.

We aim to source as much of the ingredients as locally as we can. This will ensure the quality of the food as well as supporting local businesses.

If you live locally and grow your own fruit or vegetables, do you fancy supplying The Crown Inn? Of course we would pay the going rate and we will even mention you in our menus!! For example

Grilled Cod Loin

Open grilled prime Cod Loin on a bed of Rocket (grown by *Richard of Church Cottage, Great Ouseburn.) Served with Crushed new potatoes and finished with a sweet Chilli Salsa.

Sample menus

We will be keeping the traditional steaks, pie of the day, fish and chips etc all year round, but the a la carte menus will change from month to month just to keep it interesting and to make use of all the ingredients and produce which are in season. Favourites may well return from time to time.

We hope to keep this in keeping with the food we serve so this may change. Our initial menu will not be set in stone. We have chosen local ales which we think you will want to drink. We will be having guests in so please let us know if you know of a beer which we can not miss out on trying!!
